The Department of Nutritional Sciences and Dietetics is part of the school of Health Sciences of the International Hellenic University. The department was founded in 1985 (as Department of Nutrition of T.E.I.TH.) and is the first department of its kind in tertiary education in Greece. Its campus is located in Sindos, in the outskirts of the city of Thessaloniki. The department boasts modern facilities and scientific equipment, while its academic content complies with the standards set by the official International educational and vocational bodies. The department offers modern and competitive undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Nutritional Sciences and Dietetics. The academic personnel and external collaborators of the department actively participate in international research, collaborating with other research institutes and bodies in Greece and overseas. The department has received national and international recognition, reflected upon the high marks required to enroll, the employment prospects of its graduates, its publications in international scientific journals, the research programs in which it participates as well at the demand of its postgraduate program. The Department of Nutritional Sciences and Dietetics is constantly evolving according to the demands of society, training scientists and professionals capable of succeeding in their trade and of contributing to the community.

Το Τμήμα Επιστημών Διατροφής και Διαιτολογίας ανήκει στη Σχολή Επιστημών Υγείας του Διεθνούς Πανεπιστημίου της Ελλάδος (ΔΙ.ΠΑ.Ε). Ιδρύθηκε το 1985 με το Π.Δ. 561 (ως τμήμα «Διατροφής» του Τ.Ε.Ι. Θεσσαλονίκης) και είναι το πρώτο Τμήμα ανώτατης εκπαίδευσης στον τομέα της Διατροφής που δημιουργήθηκε στην Ελλάδα. ΣΚΟΠΟΣ ΤΟΥ ΤΜΗΜΑΤΟΣ Ο σκοπός του Τμήματος είναι η εκπαίδευση των φοιτητών στη χρήση, την προαγωγή και τη μεταφορά μεθόδων, πρακτικών, τεχνικών και σύγχρονης τεχνολογίας στις Επιστήμες της Διατροφής και τη Διαιτολογία. Με στόχο τη θεωρητική, αλλά και την εφαρμοσμένη κατάρτιση των φοιτητών, το Τμήμα επικεντρώνεται: Στην ανάπτυξη κατάλληλου θεωρητικού υπόβαθρου σπουδών και την εργαστηριακή και πρακτική άσκηση υψηλού επιπέδου με τη χρήση σύγχρονων τεχνολογιών Στην ανάπτυξη ικανοτήτων και δεξιοτήτων που θα καταστήσουν τους φοιτητές ανταγωνιστικούς σε εθνικό και διεθνές περιβάλλον Στη διεξαγωγή έρευνας στις Επιστήμες της Διατροφής και τη Διαιτολογία, Στην ανάπτυξη συνεργασιών με άλλα Α.Ε.Ι. και τη συνεργασία με φορείς που δραστηριοποιούνται στο χώρο της Διατροφής και της Διαιτολογίας
